Topic: School Forest - Outdoor Cooking and Traditional Fire
Making

Place: Burlington School Forest, located 1 mile south of
Hwy 142 on Co. Hwy J
Time: 3;05 - 5:00
Overview: Students will learn various ways to start a fire
with out the use of matches. Then students will cook a
traditional native american bread, an orange egg, and a
coffee can chicken. Parent drivers are required, student
permission slips are needed, and a fee of $2.00 will be
charged.

Topic: Fishing the Fox River
Date: Thursday, October 6, 2011
Place: Wemhof-Jucker Park, we will meet in the parking lot
off of Spring Street
Time: 3:05 - 5:00
Overview: Students will need to bring a fishing pole. Bait
and tackle will be provided. Knot tying will be taught in
order to set up a river rig. We will be fishing for carp
and catfish. If fish are caught we will go through proper
fish cleaning techniques. Parent drivers are required,
student permission slips are needed. Class fee is $1 for
bait and tackle.

Overview: Students will be learning about various calls,
decoys, equipment, and methods of waterfowl hunting.
